Kim Jackson and & Louise Clarke

Topic: Innovative Teachers' Panel
This is both Kim and Louise’s first year of teaching at St. Cyprian’s School and they are enjoying every minute of it! Louise came from the UK late last year; Kim is a Capetonian. Both have been teaching for a number of years.  Kim attended a workshop in the first term on Thinking Skills. It was a conference where teachers shared their innovative ideas. It was there, that we were introduced to the book, ‘The Phantom Tollbooth’. Kim and Louise decided to combine this ‘class reader’ with IT and entered the Microsoft Innovative Teachers Competition. Louise presented the project to a panel of judges at the Intel ICT in the Classroom Conference in July and the pair was chosen to compete in the Africa and Middle East semi-finals in Jordan in September, where they were chosen for the finals in Washington which will take place in November.
