Warren Sparrow is currently Head of Information Technology at Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School. Over the last few years he has won numerous national and international awards. Some of these include: Winner of the South African and PAN African Microsoft Innovative Teacher of the year, as well as a finalist for World Microsoft Innovative Teacher during 2010. He also completed his Adobe Youth Voices Training and attended the Annual conference in Taiwan earlier this year for the work that he produced with the learners. This was the first time that a South African video had been shown at this event. During February of this year he came second in the National Partners in Learning Multimedia Competition. During Education Week in July 2011 he was awarded first prize for the 21st Century Project of the year for the most innovative use of technology to enhance learning in schools. Warren also won the National Teaching Awards for his cluster during August 2011. This year Rondebosch Boys’ Preparatory School has been invited as a Microsoft School, the third school to be invited from South Africa, which Warren has managed.
